By decision of the Minister of Immigration and Asylum, Mr. Notis Mitarakis, is removed the suspension of the examination and the issuance of a decision on pending applications for renewal of residence permits of articles 16 and 20 B of Law 4251/2014 submitted by citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus, including their family members.
In addition, it is removed the suspension of the submission of new applications for the issuance of residence permits as well as applications for the renewal of residence permits by citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus, which fall into the category of "business executives" of Article 17 of Law 4251/2014.
However, until recently, the suspension of submission and approval of new applications for residence permits of Articles 16 and 20 B of Law 4251/2014 of citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus is maintained, including, on the one hand, their family members and, on the other hand, its certification applications. investment.
Regarding the suspension of new applications, it is noted that they are excluded (a) citizens of the Russian Federation or Belarus who are members of a family of investors of another nationality and (b) citizens of the Russian Federation or Belarus who are members of a family of investor citizens of the Russian Federation or Belarus who have already applied for the renewal of their residence permit or who already hold a valid residence permit.
It is pointed out that Greece had suspended the residence permits for investment purposes for citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus until recently, pending the formation of a relevant position of the European Union. In this context, the European Commission adopted its Recommendation -Number C (2022) 2028 Final (28.3.2022) - which was taken into account in the adoption of this Decision.
